2010 RACE SERIES Point of Honor 5k *  God Parent Home 5k * CVKA 10K * Presbyterian Homes 5k * Academy July 4th One-Miler * Percival's Island 5-Miler * Lynchburg Half Marathon & Open 5K * Downtown YMCA Healthy Kids 5k WHAT IS IT? The 2010 Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series celebrates its 9th year.  Races are scheduled  April thru September and are a variety of distances.  Participants can score points in two categories; their age group and overall male or female. The goal of the race series is to help motivate individuals to stay healthy and stay running.  WHO IS ELIGIBLE? You DO NOT have to be a member of the Lynchburg Road Runners to participate. THERE IS NOT A MINIMUM NUMBER OF RACES REQUIRED TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE 2010 RACE SERIES.   The more race series races you complete, the more points you can accumulate. HOW ARE POINTS AWARDED? Points are awarded for each Overall placing and each Age Group placing as follows. 1st (50pts.), 2nd (45pts.), 3rd (40pts.), 4th (35pts.), 5th (30pts.), 6th (25pts.), 7th (20pts.), 8th (15pt.), 9th (10pts.), 10th (5pts.).  Every series participant placing beyond 10th receives 1 point for finishing the race.  Point totals for each race will be posted along with the race results the week following the race. Bonus points will be awarded to Race Directors for the event they are organizing but unable to run. WHO GETS AN AWARD? Awards are given to the top 3 overall male / female. Awards are given to the top 3 male/female in each age group. A special award will be presented to those that complete all 8 races. A presentation is made at the November  meeting of the Lynchburg Road Runners. Award recipients who can not make the awards presentation have until December 31, 2010 to pickup their awards. HOW MUCH DOES THE SERIES COST? The 2010 Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series does not cost anything additional to the entry fee charged for each race.
