STAR CITY WOMEN’S DISTANCE 5K RUN/WALK

 A Star City Striders’ Event

 Early Registration Fee is $15.00, postmarked by September 25, 2004

Late and Race Day Registration is $20.00

 A portion of race proceeds will support our 2004 co-beneficiaries, the Presbyterian Community Center and the Community Youth Program at St. John’s Episcopal Church.  These organizations provide economic and educational assistance to at-risk children and low-income families in the Old Southwest, Southeast, and Vinton areas of the Roanoke Valley .  

REGISTRATION AND PACKET PICK-UP: Please make checks payable to Star City Striders and mail with registration form to Amy Rockhill, 2310 Maiden Lane, Roanoke, VA  24015.  Packet pick-up and late registration is available on Friday at Fleet Feet Sports from 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m.   Packet pick-up and race day registration is from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. near Start Line in Wasena Park .  

COURSE CHANGE:  START near Skate Park sign in Wasena Park and run in the direction of picnic shelter; take left onto Winchester; continue on Winchester and cross railroad tracks; proceed onto greenway through Smith Park (cross 2 low water bridges); turn around at end of greenway and proceed back through Smith Park; stay right after 2^nd low water bridge to FINISH near picnic shelter in Wasena Park.  COURSE MAP ON BACK

AWARDS:  Top three finishers overall and the top three finishers in each of the following age groups:  9 and under, 10-13, 14-17, 18-22, 23-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.  First finishers in Mother-Daughter and Sister-Sister competition will receive awards.  (Both members must register.)
